Peter Schiff is against calling Bitcoin a real asset.

  • Economist Peter Schiff is unhappy with the comparison of Bitcoin to real assets.
  • In his opinion, gold, stocks and real estate are much more reliable than BTC, which should be sold quickly.

Grayscale analysts believe that Bitcoin has recently been much more correlated with gold than with technology stocks.

Recently, crypto analyst Quinten Francois compared BTC to other established assets.

Gold is approximately 20 times larger than Bitcoin. Global stock markets are approximately 100 times larger. The global real estate market is more than 250 times larger.

Peter Schiff, a staunch gold proponent and equally staunch Bitcoin opponent , believes that Bitcoin should not be compared to traditional assets like gold.

Bitcoin isn't a real asset, so its value has nothing to do with gold, stocks, or real estate. Why can't your brain comprehend that?

Schiff also rejects Bitcoin as a hedge against inflation. People who buy BTC hoping to preserve and grow their fiat wealth are mistaken.

Those who choose inflation over gold or silver are making the wrong choice, Peter Schiff states categorically.

True, the critic himself recently admitted that he once missed a significant rise in Bitcoin's price, even though he "could have made a lot of money on Bitcoin." However, this thesis doesn't apply to the last five days:

Over the past five years, I've been better off not owning Bitcoin. Bitcoin holders have been missing out on a lot of money by not selling!

Schiff sees the growing popularity of AI as another future threat to Bitcoin. While the community views BTC as a digital asset to be used by AI, the economist himself believes AI will eliminate the useless cryptocurrency.
