Israel's Bank Leumi has partnered with Galaxy Digital to allow its clients to trade Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana (SOL) through the bank's investment platform. The service is expected to be available in early 2027.
This initiative is a key component of the bank's innovation strategy and allows us to provide clients with simple, secure, and regulated access to digital asset trading through one of the world's leading technology infrastructures. We believe digital assets are gradually becoming an integral part of the global financial system," said Maya Ravia, Head of Strategy at Bank Leumi.
Galaxy announced that this partnership will make Leumi the first Israeli bank to offer clients digital asset trading services. The lender will use GalaxyOne Institutional for crypto trading and related services, while Galaxy's custodial infrastructure platform, formerly known as GK8, will support the bank's digital asset infrastructure.
According to Leumi, the bank serves millions of clients across its retail and corporate operations. Furthermore, crypto investment activity in the Middle East and North Africa has grown by 33% over the past year, exceeding $500 billion. However, this is lower than in Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region.
