American financial services giant Charles Schwab plans to add Solana (SOL), Avalanche (AVAX), and Chainlink (LINK) to its cryptocurrency trading platform, Schwab Crypto, in the coming months.

With this expansion, clients will have more options for digital asset allocation alongside the investment and banking expertise they know and trust at Schwab, the statement said.

Starting in May 2026, Schwab Crypto users will be able to trade Bitcoin and Ethereum. Charles Schwab plans to add more cryptocurrencies and digital assets over time, but the company hasn't specified which assets it's considering. No timeframe has been announced, other than the three recently announced tokens.

However, in June, The Wall Street Journal reported that Charles Schwab would launch options contracts that would allow traders to bet "yes" or "no" on the performance of the S&P 500 stock market index. The contracts will allow clients to bet on whether the index will close above or below a certain level. This initiative will be implemented over several months in partnership with Cboe Global Market.

Schwab currently charges a commission of 75 basis points, or 0,75%, on the dollar value of each cryptocurrency trade. The service is available in all US states except New York and Louisiana. International traders are not yet able to use Schwab Crypto's services.

Charles Schwab Premier Bank is the custodian of the assets, while blockchain infrastructure company Paxos is handling trade execution.
