  • This news gave the AVAX token a 5% upward momentum.

Hanwha Investment & Securities, the brokerage arm of South Korean giant Hanwha Group with a market capitalization of $200 billion, announced its readiness to launch a platform for tokenized securities based on the Avalanche blockchain.

According to CoinGecko, the news sent AVAX up 5,24% in 24 hours, trading at $8,06 on September 7, giving it a market capitalization of $3,48 billion.

The tokenized securities platform unveiled by Hanwha in early September has been in development since 2025, and was developed by blockchain company FairSquare Lab.

The brokerage firm developed the system by combining Avalanche's public infrastructure with Hyperledger Besu's enterprise blockchain, which is widely used in the South Korean financial sector.

The Avalanche platform is just one element of a larger digital asset development strategy. Hanwha Group acquired a 9,6% stake in three subsidiaries of tokenization company Securitize, becoming its largest shareholder.

In July, the group's securities arm invested 30 billion Korean won, equivalent to $22,3 million, in Digital Asset, the developer of the Canton Network.

According to a forecast by the Boston Consulting Group, by 2030, approximately 10% of global GDP, or $16 trillion, will be converted into tokenized form using blockchain.

Their colleagues from Standard Chartered & Synpulse believe that institutional participation, regulation, and the transition of trading infrastructures (NYSE, Nasdaq, DTCC) to a distributed ledger will generate $30 trillion in value by 2034.
