Vertcoin (VTC)

Vertcoin (VTC) is a decentralized, open-source cryptocurrency that was created in 2014 with the goal of providing sustainability, security, and decentralization of transactions.

Vertcoin uses a Proof-of-Work (PoW) algorithm called Lyra2REv3, which allows miners to mine coins using Graphics Processing Units (GPUs) and Central Processing Units (CPUs), thereby ensuring a more even distribution of power and preventing monopolization of coin mining.

Vertcoin also supports the Lightning Network algorithm, which provides scalability and faster transactions. It also has additional features such as transaction anonymity using the Tor protocol, as well as features to protect against 51% attacks such as the Verthash algorithm.

Vertcoin offers a more decentralized and democratic system, allowing every participant in the network to have an equal opportunity to receive rewards for mining coins. This may be of interest to those who want to access cryptocurrency without the use of specialized equipment and high energy costs.
