Monero (XMR) – anonymous decentralized cryptocurrency. Its name translates to “coin” in Esperanto.
Since its launch in 2014, the crypto project has constantly developed, aiming to create one of the leading cryptocurrencies. Its developers and community have primarily focused on optimizing its codebase to ensure a high level of privacy.
To make anonymous money transfers, many users choose the Monero payment system. If we compare its work with all known Bitcoin, then Monero undoubtedly has enhanced privacy features. Its blockchain uses a special CryptoNote protocol, which is responsible for obfuscating money transfers. Since the end of spring 2017, the cryptocurrency has been among the top 15 crypto assets by market capitalization.
Monero started working without the use of pre-mining, two weeks after the launch a program for mining using GPU was developed. During its rather short history, the currency was attacked, but these attempts did not end in anything, and the system continued to function as usual.
There are currently 17,93 million XMR in circulation with a maximum supply of ∞. The most active exchange where this cryptocurrency is exchanged is Bitfinex.
