Crowdloan is a way to attract additional investment into a project from interested users to participate in an auction for the right to own a slot on the Kusama (KSM) or Polkadot blockchain.
Each project participating in crowdlons specifies what reward they will send in exchange for the tokens that users contribute to their project. Thus, users choose the most interesting project for themselves using their KSMs.
Over a certain period of time, a reward is awarded if a project wins a parachain slot. After exactly 48 weeks, KSM are automatically returned back to the user.
